Tomato or BBQ Sauce - The Great Debate

I have never been a fan of BBQ sauce. To me, a hamburger is much better with tomato sauce, yet everywhere I seem to go uses BBQ sauce! Even when I ask them to change the sauce - I still get BBQ sauce!!!!
It happened again today - I was at Stafford City, and decided to have lunch at the Short Black Coffee Shop - I asked for their gourmet hamburger (which was on the menu, as expected, with BBQ sauce) and three times during the order taking conversation I said I wanted the burger with tomato sauce not BBQ. I heard the little blonde thing say "tomato" sauce, and I assumed she finally got it.
When the meal came out, the burger was put down in front of me and I heard the same girl say something about Tomato Sauce. The next thing I knew, she was coming back with some tomato sauce in a little plastic pot! They had still put BBQ on the burger!!! When I mentioned this to the girl, her response was a pathetic 'sorry' and to walk away.
This little event at Stafford was the second time for this cafe.
Why can't people listen!!!

Today's Earnings

I just did a linen party which went for 2 hours from which I will be earning $160 - that's $80 an hour! How great is that! It may end up being more if the host gets some more outside orders, and although I don't get paid until the order is completed, that's still pretty good earnings!

There are so many new products coming out at the moment that I can't wait to show everyone the latest items!

I'm Recession-Proof!

I love working for myself! I love how I can choose to work my own hours! I have a part-time 10hours-a-week job which I choose to do; I choose to do a once-a-week cleaning job because I wanted to get paid to exercise :p - and I run two party-plan businesses because I love the products, the people and the money!

I'm also starting my own entertainment business - but that's another story.

Last year I was working in a full-time position which I was not happy with. The money was okay - I could walk to work, and it was easy to do. I decided to go back to full-time studies which meant I could change from full-time back to part-time (10hrs a week). It was a scary thought going from $500 a week down to $180 a week! This is when I also decided to focus on party-plan and direct selling.

Last week I did a party from which I will be earning $240 for 2 hours work. That's $120 an hour! I don't know too many jobs which pay that much. I figured out pretty quickly that I could earn between $300 - $600 a week working only 10 to 15 hours (about 3 parties a week). That is pretty much replacing what I was earning full time!

I didn't quit my other job completely, but I now do it because I want to - not because I have to. Plus I like getting a staff discount :p

A report in the USA Today stated that the Direct Selling industry is recession-proof. The thing is that this isn't really a recession yet - it's just the tip of the ice-berg. I think there's more to come yet.

People keep talking about this so-called recession - but my response is: "I"ve heard about it, but I choose not to take part in it".

Latest News

Well it looks like the first underground restaurant event in Brisbane will have to be postponed due to lack of numbers. Such as shame as it was shaping up to be a very exciting night out! Plans have been put in place to retry in a couple of months.

In other news, I hear a new cabaret / burlesque show is coming to BrisVegas! Sounds very exciting. The first one in July is rumoured to have a special guest performance by local Burlesque babe, Lola the Vamp. Stay tuned for more..

Hi5 Hottie Striptease

KELLIE: YOU GO GIRL!!!

I think it's a great move by Kellie to strip for Ralph magazine. After all, Hi5 are no longer together so it's time for everyone to move on. How can "Family Groups" (whoever "they" are as stated on ACA) say it's sending the wrong message to children? Kellie is an ADULT, posing for an ADULT magazine, which is in the ADULT section of the newsagency. Children SHOULD NOT be looking at these magazines, and if they are its the PARENTS who should be responsible. Not the magazine. Not the newsagents. Not Kellie.

Okay, so in the parent's defence - you can't always be there watching your child's every move. Half the problem today is the children have too many rights. You can't even smack your child on the bum anymore without getting an abuse charge - and I agree that parents (and teachers) need to be given back more responsibility when it comes to disciplining children - and whilst I have met and worked with some fantastic, polite, and generally nice children, majority of todays generation are rude, selfish, inconsiderate... well, I could go on, but I'm getting off topic.

Back to Kelli: It's no different really to when Nikki Webster did the same thing. She turned 18 and she posed for an adult magazine in 2005.

They are both mature adults, with beautful bodies who have the confidence in themselves to show them off.

I just wish all those critical people in the world who have nothing better to do than complain would disappear into a black hole instead of trying to force their views on to the rest of us.

If I had a body like Kelli, I would probably pose for Ralph too. As they say, "if you've got it, flaunt it"!

Garnished with a Cherry

After the success of "Tarnished" La La Parlour has returned to BrisVegas with their new show, "Garnished". The hour-long show delivers what it promises as a mixture of circus and burlesque. With no set storyline, each act blends well into a continuous momentum of skill and comedy, except this time instead of four ladies, the troupe has a testosterone injection.
Mark Winmill and Rudi Mineur outshine their female counterparts, the lovely Tigerlil and Kellie Vella, bringing the house down with their buffed bods and gay antics. The four members complemented each other well on stage, and if you can get by the milked applauses, and the various items thrown at the audience (some unintentional :p), then this show could nearly be considered suitable for the whole family. Luckily it's not.
My only condolences when out to the poor girls who sat at table 3 tonight.

"Garnished" by La la Parlour is playing at the Judith Wright Centre, Fortitude Valley until Saturday 18 April, 2009. Tickets probably sold out.

Vision Board

I've decided I need to put up a new vision board. I had one years ago, but I think it fell down and then got tossed along with all the great visions I once had! The need to feel like we've achieved something worthwhile should encourage us to have more goals and be more committed to them.
I do have some goals written down - but I think it's time for some visual reminders.. the bigger house, a new car, holidays and so on.
I recently read somewhere that because of all the technology and conveniences available to us today, it is relatively easy to go through life without having to fully commit to anything. We make half-hearted commitment, and like most females, reserve the right to change our mind at any given notice. Tomorrow we want to save the world, but today we want to curl up in bed with a glass of wine and a good book. Perhaps its fear of success, fear of rejection, or just plain fact that we couldn't really be bothered.
When it comes to a breakfast of eggs and bacon, it comes down to the chicken or the pig: the chicken is only supporting the breakfast by supplying the egg, but the pig is fully commited to providing the bacon. Okay, that might be against their will, but you get the idea.
The important thing is to stop complaining and start doing something. If you don't like something, then see if you can do something about it. If you can't, then you have to accept it and STOP complaining. By creating a board of goals and visions for the future, you can remind yourself what you really want to achieve and spend more time focusing on the positive things in life!
Now to find my old cork board...
