To me, a hamburger is much better with tomato sauce, yet everywhere I seem to go uses BBQ sauce! Even when I ask them to change the sauce - I still get BBQ sauce!!!!
It happened again today - I was at Stafford City, and decided to have lunch at the Short Black Coffee Shop - I asked for their gourmet hamburger (which was on the menu, as expected, with BBQ sauce) and three times during the order taking conversation I said I wanted the burger with tomato sauce not BBQ. I heard the little blonde thing say "tomato" sauce, and I assumed she finally got it.
When the meal came out, the burger was put down in front of me and I heard the same girl say something about Tomato Sauce. The next thing I knew, she was coming back with some tomato sauce in a little plastic pot! They had still put BBQ on the burger!!! When I mentioned this to the girl, her response was a pathetic 'sorry' and to walk away.
This little event at Stafford was the second time for this cafe.
Why can't people listen!!!

Today's Earnings

I just did a linen party which went for 2 hours from which I will be earning $160 - that's $80 an hour! I love how I can choose to work my own hours! I have a part-time 10hours-a-week job which I choose to do; I choose to do a once-a-week cleaning job because I wanted to get paid to exercise :p - and I run two party-plan businesses because I love the products, the people and the money!

I'm also starting my own entertainment business - but that's another story.

Last year I was working in a full-time position which I was not happy with. The money was okay - I could walk to work, and it was easy to do. I decided to go back to full-time studies which meant I could change from full-time back to part-time (10hrs a week). It was a scary thought going from $500 a week down to $180 a week! This is when I also decided to focus on party-plan and direct selling.

Last week I did a party from which I will be earning $240 for 2 hours work. That's $120 an hour! I don't know too many jobs which pay that much. I figured out pretty quickly that I could earn between $300 - $600 a week working only 10 to 15 hours (about 3 parties a week). That is pretty much replacing what I was earning full time!

I didn't quit my other job completely, but I now do it because I want to - not because I have to. Plus I like getting a staff discount :p

A report in the USA Today stated that the Direct Selling industry is recession-proof. The thing is that this isn't really a recession yet - it's just the tip of the ice-berg. I think there's more to come yet.

People keep talking about this so-called recession - but my response is: "I"ve heard about it, but I choose not to take part in it".

Latest News

Well it looks like the first underground restaurant event in Brisbane will have to be postponed due to lack of numbers. After all, Hi5 are no longer together so it's time for everyone to move on. How can "Family Groups" (whoever "they" are as stated on ACA) say it's sending the wrong message to children? Kellie is an ADULT, posing for an ADULT magazine, which is in the ADULT section of the newsagency. Children SHOULD NOT be looking at these magazines, and if they are its the PARENTS who should be responsible. Not the magazine. Not the newsagents. Not Kellie.

Okay, so in the parent's defence - you can't always be there watching your child's every move. Half the problem today is the children have too many rights. You can't even smack your child on the bum anymore without getting an abuse charge - and I agree that parents (and teachers) need to be given back more responsibility when it comes to disciplining children - and whilst I have met and worked with some fantastic, polite, and generally nice children, majority of todays generation are rude, selfish, inconsiderate... well, I could go on, but I'm getting off topic.

Back to Kelli: It's no different really to when Nikki Webster did the same thing. She turned 18 and she posed for an adult magazine in 2005.

They are both mature adults, with beautful bodies who have the confidence in themselves to show them off.

I just wish all those critical people in the world who have nothing better to do than complain would disappear into a black hole instead of trying to force their views on to the rest of us.

If I had a body like Kelli, I would probably pose for Ralph too. The four members complemented each other well on stage, and if you can get by the milked applauses, and the various items thrown at the audience (some unintentional :p), then this show could nearly be considered suitable for the whole family. I had one years ago, but I think it fell down and then got tossed along with all the great visions I once had! The need to feel like we've achieved something worthwhile should encourage us to have more goals and be more committed to them.
I do have some goals written down - but I think it's time for some visual reminders.. the bigger house, a new car, holidays and so on.
I recently read somewhere that because of all the technology and conveniences available to us today, it is relatively easy to go through life without having to fully commit to anything. We make half-hearted commitment, and like most females, reserve the right to change our mind at any given notice. Tomorrow we want to save the world, but today we want to curl up in bed with a glass of wine and a good book. Perhaps its fear of success, fear of rejection, or just plain fact that we couldn't really be bothered.
When it comes to a breakfast of eggs and bacon, it comes down to the chicken or the pig: the chicken is only supporting the breakfast by supplying the egg, but the pig is fully commited to providing the bacon. Okay, that might be against their will, but you get the idea.
The important thing is to stop complaining and start doing something. If you don't like something, then see if you can do something about it. If you can't, then you have to accept it and STOP complaining. By creating a board of goals and visions for the future, you can remind yourself what you really want to achieve and spend more time focusing on the positive things in life!
Now to find my old cork board...

Shhh! So far, so good. My biggest obstacle, however, is all the crap I've collected over the years which clutters every corner of every room of my house. I'm sure at some point all this stuff was useful, but when you can't fit any more clothes into your cupboard, or any more books on the bookshelf, or the DVD collection is overflowing it's stand and you're thinking about buying yet another storage space... well, I think it must be time to re-assess the needs and wants.
For example, I love cooking but I'm only average as far as this skill goes. I therefore love collecting recipies I might create someday. I have around 2 large piles of recipies torn from magazines, some of which started to be placed in folders, not to mention over 30 different cookbooks! But at the end of the day, the only recipies I ever use come from a small collection of half a dozen books. It would make sense to then keep these books and do away with the rest - yet there's always that niggling feeling that I might get rid of a recipie I really want to make one day. Of course, chances are you can find it on the net, but there's nothing like a good cookbook. Don't you agree?
Maybe I should start on my X-Files collection first...or my doll collection which has been packed in storage boxes for the last 5 or more years because I don't have the room to display them...or my clothes (just the thought makes me shiver)... my CD and DVD collection perhaps...
(sigh!)
It'll be spring before I've even made the decision!! Maybe I should just get a bigger house.

He Died With A Felafel In His Hand

I've just returned home from the opening night of "He Died With A Felafel In His Hand" at the Brisbane Arts Theatre. Having never read the book, nor seen the movie, I only had a mild idea of what the play was about: a guy who lived in various share-houses and the stories of his experiences. The 'guy' was the author himself, John Birmingham.
I can't personally relate to John's share-house experiences - but I know people who can - and you well may be one finding yourself relating to such experiences.
The Brisbane Arts Theatre's production was extremely well-received. Natalie Bochenski has exceeded expections as the Director, overseeing a fantastic cast and crew to bring to life Simon Bedak's adaptation of John Birmingham's 1994 classic novel.
Each of the twelve cast members gave such outstanding performances in their (sometimes various) characters, that it seems unfair to single out anyone. It also would give away too much to actually review the show itself, so I won't. But I can tell you this - whether they are tears of joy or tears of sad recognition - you'll die laughing!

"He Died With A Felafel in his Hand" playing Fri & Sat nights at Brisbane Arts Theatre until 02 May, 2009.

Hello Everyone & Welcome!!!

Hello beautiful people. Sarah Sweetpea from Bris-Vegas here, writing to you about the happenings in this big country town of (sometimes) sunny Queensland. Most likely about the happenings I've been involved with, but will see how things go. It may be a bit random also, so I apologise in advance for that, but either way, I hope you have fun reading my blog!

Who am I. Just a girl who loves to do too many things at once. Maybe you've met me, maybe not. I'd like to think one day you might, as I do love making new friends. In the meantime, a little mystery can go a long way...
